Description of Meditation Teacher Training Level One
In the past decade, the Western world has discovered the incredible benefits of a daily meditation practice. Meditation originated in the East over 2000 years ago. The practice itself is simple, so why is it so hard to support our students in cultivating this life changing habit?
Meditation Teacher Training Level One will help you support beginner students so that they may establish a regular home practice. You will learn the necessary skills to lead your students in finding more peace, and happiness. More importantly, people with an established meditation practice are better able to notice what changes they need to make in their lives so their self development path is strengthened.
Meditation Teacher Training Level 1 is right for you if:
- You would like to deepen your understanding of meditation and how it benefits your life
- You would like to be supported within a safe container of colleagues in order to deepen your personal practice
- You are interested in improving the lives of everyone you come in contact with
- You would like to volunteer and share meditation with communities in need
- You are a yoga teacher who is not yet comfortable including meditation as a part of your class
- You are a psychotherapist, health professional, school teacher, or life coach and would like to introduce meditation into your work with clients

- The benefits of meditation from historic, neuroscientific, psychological, and experiential perspectives
- The history of meditation and its ancient origins in Buddhism
- The components of living an ethical life and why that is important for your practice
- Tibetan Buddhist philosophy for beginners and how to present these ideas to students in a way that supports their personal development
- How to present meditation to students in a way that is tailored to their lifestyle and needs
- Knowing your audience and using skillful means that will resonate with and inspire others
- Learning how to present from a secular or spiritual perspective and what style is appropriate for you
- Leading guided meditation in one-to-one, small group, and audio recorded formats
- Receive constructive feedback on how to improve your teaching technique
- Develop the confidence, vocabulary, and presence to successfully lead others with confidence
- Find greater presence, balance, clarity, and expansiveness within yourself through committed personal practices
You will be required to observe classes, submit written observations, spend time practice teaching and complete a final class to complete the certification. These written requirements may be completed in 3 months time from the end of the training.
