BioI’m from…
The boroughs and the ‘burbs of NYC My education… BA in Literature/Creative Writing from NYU 300+ Hour Trained Yoga & Meditation Teacher Certified Pre-Natal/Post-Natal Teacher Certified Professional Life Coach/Spiritual Mentor My backstory.... My yoga journey began 18 years ago when I attended a prenatal class while pregnant with my first child. My practice waned considerably over the years that my three children were toddlers. When their dad passed away in 2007, I found myself juggling a corporate career while raising them on my own. Life was challenging and I struggled with depression because I did not have the tools I needed to be happy and at peace. My practice of yoga began anew, and then deepened in 2012. I discovered how incredibly effective meditation, yoga and eastern philosophy was in shifting the way I looked at the world. I felt compelled to dedicate my life to helping others. I made the leap and left my corporate career to teach full-time. I love yoga & meditation because… It offers a complete system for mental and physical well-being. Yoga makes no promises that you cannot experiment with and test for yourself. When your practice becomes consistent the changes you have made in your body and your mind are clear. You feel good. You’re happier. You achieve a flexibility in attitude as well as the physical body. My spiritual coaching... Emphasizes establishing a strong and consistent meditation practice. We then take eastern philosophy and use it as a lens through which we can approach life. We find easy ways to implement the practices of gratitude, kindness, generosity, and letting go of mental afflictions. The goal is to find a sense of inner peace and happiness in modern, practical and relevant ways. My yoga & meditation classes… Prioritize the inner practice of yoga over the outer practice, the asana. What you are doing with the mind is more important than the physical postures. When the inner practice is strong the physical postures naturally become available to you. I like to offer practical techniques toward a happier and more peaceful life that can be used both on and off that mat. My passion.... I have an incredible passion for working with women in particular. What’s most fascinating to me is how many of us fit into the archetype of females as nurturers but how we often we forget to nurture ourselves. My greatest joy is creating sacred space for women to explore their connection with mind, body and spirit while supporting their self-care. When I’m not teaching… I'm writing. My work's been published in major yoga publications and I love being able to combine my two passions. You'll also find me wandering around the woods or near the water, creating meals in the kitchen, reading or hanging out with my family, our pup, and our extensive network of family and friends.
